The urban forest that the architect and developers plan to destroy is outlined in red and is currently zoned R-4 (single family residential). This is woodland filled with dozens of mature trees over 10 inches in diameter and over 100 feet high.
Use your imagination and picture a 5 story concrete parking deck replacing this wooded land, and you will begin to get a sense of what these developers plan to do to the Morningside neigborhood.
